Since 2018, Jungle Grip has supported national and international features, series, documentaries and commercials. Based in Manaus, we handle what your production needs to shoot anywhere in the Amazon: gear, crew experienced in boat-based and rainforest shoots, and the logistics to get everything where it needs to be.

How we work

Everything your production needs to shoot in the Amazon

Shooting in the Amazon

Our team knows the terrain: boat-based sets on regional riverboats, generator power at off-grid locations, river transport and scheduling around the high- and low-water seasons. Our grip team also specializes in rigging on boats, canoes, speedboats and other river vessels. We help you size gear, crew and logistics so everything arrives intact and the shoot stays on schedule.

Hire our crew

Beyond rentals, Jungle Grip rigs and operates. Tyson works as key grip and gaffer, with 30 years on set and credits including The Blue Trail (O Último Azul) and Enquanto o Céu Não Me Espera. Our crew includes local grips and electricians. Dessana coordinates production and logistics at Jungle Grip and is your point of contact for quotes, scheduling and crew travel. For on-set production and logistics, you can also hire our production services team.

How equipment rental works

Send us your tech scout notes, dates and locations, and we’ll get back to you with a quote within 48 hours. All gear leaves Manaus checked and can travel with the crew to boats and remote locations. For production insurance, we provide an equipment list with brand, model and serial number. We work in English and accept international payments.

The team behind Jungle Grip

Jungle Grip was founded in Manaus in 2018, built on Tyson’s years on set. Today we bring together equipment rental, local crew and production services for productions planning to shoot in the Amazon.

Reginaldo Tyson

Tyson has worked as a cinematographer since 1996 and as a grip since 2009. At Jungle Grip, he works directly with clients to choose the right gear for each project, based on the specific conditions and challenges of filming in the Amazon. He speaks English and Spanish.

Dessana Oliveira

A journalism graduate with an MBA in Marketing from FGV, Dessana spent over 20 years in advertising, managing teams and major brand accounts. For the past two years she has worked exclusively in film and TV production. She speaks English and Spanish.

  • At Jungle GripOperations & logisticsShe runs operations and the logistics that get gear where it needs to go. As a fixer, she arranges crew accommodation, transport and catering, handles filming permits in Manaus, and puts together the local crew for each project.
